What makes a password strong
A strong password is long and unpredictable. Length matters most: each extra character multiplies the number of possible combinations an attacker must try. Mixing uppercase, lowercase, numbers and symbols widens the pool further, and true randomness stops the predictable patterns that humans fall back on.
How this generator works
The tool draws characters at random from the sets you enable using your browser's built-in randomness, then assembles them into a password of the length you set. Because it runs entirely on your device, the password is never transmitted or logged, so no server ever sees it.
A worked example
A 16-character password using uppercase, lowercase, digits and symbols draws from a pool of around 90 possible characters per position, giving an astronomically large number of combinations that is impractical to brute-force. Compare that with a short 8-character lowercase-only password, which is millions of times weaker and can be cracked quickly.
Using passwords safely
Generate a different password for every account so one breach cannot unlock the others, and store them in a reputable password manager rather than trying to remember them. Enable two-factor authentication where you can, since even a strong password is stronger with a second layer behind it.
